LSG Landscape Architecture provided entitlement support for a 180-unit low-rise building on a 2.3-acre surface parking lot at the Hunt Valley Towne Center, in Baltimore County, Maryland. It is part of a joint development with the adjacent 315-unit Avalon Bay multi-family project. The development includes 97 Independent Living, 48 Assisted Living and 35 Memory Care units, positioned over a 125-space parking garage.
A significant site improvement lies to the east side of the new building, adjacent to the existing movie theater. This 45’ x 365’ linear public park will be transformed into an urban oasis with integrated storm water facilities, art displays, murals, a stone fountain, covered seating, and small gathering spaces.
The project includes two courtyard terraces for Memory Care and Independent Living residents, and a roof terrace for Assisted Living Residents. These spaces are designed with different care levels in mind, utilizing material, form, and landscape to create vibrant and comfortable spaces catered to various user groups.
The project has received its local zoning approval (Joint Sub-application Planning Committee) and is in the design and site plan stages.
