LSG Landscape Architecture provided entitlement support for a 2.2-acre planned urban site within an 11.6-acre development in the City of Fairfax. The community includes 114 Independent Living units, 60 Assisted Living units, and 26 Memory Care units.
Designed to support seniors' desire to age in place, the development sits within a planned urban center, giving residents easy access to on-site amenities as well as the surrounding community—encouraging an active, connected lifestyle.
Entry Courtyard (8,000 SF)
Framed by residential units to the north and retail/administrative offices to the west, the entry courtyard features a generous covered porte-cochère with leisure seating and mingling space, planted residential patios, an outdoor bistro seating area, and an intimate fountain court where residents can gather while waiting for pick-ups.
West Courtyard (7,500 SF)
Envisioned as a community pocket park, the west courtyard welcomes the public with a polished granite wall accented by toe lights, leading to a generous dining terrace with a modern outdoor kitchen beneath a large trellis strung with festival lights. Visitors can linger by a firepit surrounded by built-in wooden benches, while a wooden deck along the courtyard's northern edge—framed by lush landscaping—opens onto a lawn suited for yoga and cornhole.
Well Spring Garden (6,000 SF)
On the second floor, this calm, immersive garden features a covered seating area, a potting patio, and a walking loop with stops at a music corner, a firepit room, and an outdoor craft alcove.
Assisted Living Roof Terrace (4,000 SF)
On the third floor, residents gather beneath a trellis or tree canopy in this open patio space. Raised planting beds create intimate seating areas, while glass railings along the roof's edge preserve unobstructed views down to the Well Spring Garden and Japanese Garden below.
