LSG Landscape Architecture worked closely with the American Red Cross to implement this Memorial Garden at their National Headquarters. LSG refined a previously developed design concept, completing the layout and key material selections. LSG prepared construction documents and provided construction phase oversight to ensure a sustainable design and complementary interface with the monument’s setting on the treed grounds of the site on the mall in Washington, DC.
The design narrative carefully integrates the new plaza and existing sculpture into the surrounding historical context. The plaza creates a unique setting for contemplation and appreciation for the American Red Cross mission, and for the generosity of its supporters.
